Ask Claude or ChatGPT to create a plan or understand a topic — and you get superficial fluff with fabrications? Here’s a recipe to fix that.
Use projects. Both Claude and ChatGPT have projects — it’s a folder with a knowledge base + instructions for the AI. Everything you put there — the AI will use as a foundation for its answers.
How to build a knowledge base if you have nothing:
Start Deep Research (in ChatGPT) or Research (in Claude) — not on the final question, but on a broad topic around it. Get the results → save them as a file in the project. Repeat 2-3 times on related aspects. Now the AI has a foundation, and the answers will be more meaningful.
Important:
— Specify in the project instructions how exactly the AI should work with your materials
— Hallucinations will not disappear completely, but will become rare
— Check Research too — it’s not infallible
— Fully functional on paid plans
The analogy is simple: don’t ask a first grader for the multiplication table they haven’t learned — give them a textbook first. It’s the same here.
