Anthropic has opened access in the format of Research Preview. The same capabilities as on macOS: working with local files, launching multi-step processes, connecting MCP connectors. (I didn't even suspect that this was not available on Windows).
The main feature is the "memory" system through two levels of instructions:
— Global — style, rules, and preferences for all sessions.
— Folder-specific — tied to a specific project and automatically loads its context.
The tool is evolving from a chat format to a full-fledged work assistant. Available on paid Claude plans.
I use Cowork on macOS daily — it’s the folder-specific instructions that change everything. No need to explain the project context from scratch every time.
